AI Engine (Pro)

AI meets WordPress. Your site can now chat, write poetry, solve problems, and maybe make you coffee.

AI Engine connects WordPress with AI models. One install, stable connectors for every major AI provider: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, and more. Build intelligent chatbots, generate content, create AI forms, and automate tasks. All from your WordPress dashboard.

Take the tour at vibewithwp.ai: what AI Engine does, how the MCP server works, and how it compares to the alternatives. Please make sure you read the disclaimer. For more information, check the official website of AI Engine.

Faq

Why am I getting "Error 429: You exceeded your current quota"?

This error comes from OpenAI's API, not AI Engine. Set up billing limits in your OpenAI account. Caching plugins can sometimes store error responses, so clear your caches too.

Who is AI Engine for, and how do I manage usage limits?

AI Engine can be used by site owners, administrators, and visitors via chat widgets. To set query limits and prevent unlimited model runs, follow the Managing Limits guide.

Does the chatbot support my language?

AI models support many languages, but quality varies. There's no definitive list since models are constantly updated. Test your language in the AI Playground.

How does MCP work, and what can I do with it?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) exposes WordPress tools to AI agents. Learn how to enable the MCP endpoint, choose which tools to expose, and secure them. You can manage posts, comments, users, media, and more. Administrators get full access, and you can also let Editors connect with their own account for content only.

Does AI Engine work with WordPress AI (the AI plugin, Connectors and providers)?

Yes, but you don't need it. AI Engine already does everything WordPress AI offers, and more: it connects to every major provider, and adds chatbots, AI Forms, embeddings, a dedicated MCP server with more than fifty tools, and usage insights. That's why we don't recommend installing the WordPress AI plugin alongside it. If you already use it, that's fine: we make sure both play nicely together. On the Connectors page, choose to let AI Engine manage your providers: the API keys you already saved there are reused, both screens stay in sync, and the AI features of WordPress run through AI Engine, so their usage shows up in its Insights.

Can I restrict the chatbot to answer only from my site content?

You can't completely block the model's built-in knowledge, but you can use smart prompts and embeddings to steer conversations toward your content.

The chatbot doesn't appear or looks odd on my site

Check the Common Issues guide for solutions to REST API problems, caching conflicts, nonce errors, and layout glitches.

Where can I learn the basics and troubleshoot problems?

Start with the Basics guide for installation and key concepts. For specific issues, check Common Issues.

How do I report security issues?

Report security vulnerabilities through the Patchstack Vulnerability Disclosure Program.

Screenshots

  1. A chatbot on your site, here as a popup in the corner of a page. Give it a name, an avatar and a personality.
  2. The same chatbot inline, with a dark theme. Themes are built in, and you can style your own.
  3. Realtime: a voice conversation with the AI, with avatars and the live events feed.
  4. Building a chatbot in the settings: pick the environment, the model, the context and the functions, and try it right there in the live preview.
  5. The Content Generator: a whole post from a topic, sections first, then the content and the excerpt, all editable before it is published.
  6. The Workspace: a full-screen AI chat inside wp-admin that can read and manage your site, with every model you configured.
  7. Workspace on your phone: your site's AI on iPhone or Android. Every model, your keys, your site, with conversations kept on your own WordPress and image generation included.

License

The plugin declares no license. The code is redistributed under the license the vendor declared in the plugin’s own headers.

Artwork, fonts, media and documents that may be licensed separately are not redistributed; the licensing page explains what is replaced or removed, and the security tab lists it per version. Support and update entitlement come with the license you buy from the vendor.

What works, what does not, what is missing: a few words help.

Only if you would like a reply.

Taken in your browser, without this window. Passwords, what you typed into forms, keys and tokens are left out as grey blocks; you can hide more before sending. We keep screenshots for 90 days.

We store it with the page address, your language, window size, browser and IP address, and your e-mail address if you give one. The IP address and browser are deleted after 90 days. Privacy policy.
