Finding packages
Search the catalogue, filter by plugins or themes, sort the results, and browse by vendor.
Every plugin and theme in the repository has a page on the website, open to everyone. You need an account only to star, watch and install.
Search
- Type in the search box at the top of any page and press Enter, or press
/anywhere to jump into it. The Packages page has the same box (1). - Narrow the results to Plugins or Themes (2).
- Sort by Best match (or Most popular without a search), Recently updated or Name (3).
- Open a package by its card (4): the card shows its Composer name, latest version, release date and license.
The search looks at the title, the Composer name (meteorgpl-plugin/<slug>) and the description. A package's slug is usually the folder name it has in wp-content/plugins or wp-content/themes.
Browse by vendor
The Vendors page lists the makers of the packages.
- Search by the vendor's name or website (1).
- Filter by source, by number of packages, by whether the vendor has a website, or show only Verified vendors (2). A vendor is verified when it has claimed its profile (Claiming your vendor profile).
A vendor's page lists all its packages, links to its website and, when the vendor has added one, to where you buy a license.
Not in the catalogue?
Search the package requests: if someone asked already, vote for it; otherwise ask for it. Voters are told when it is added.
Questions
Why does a package page say "Not available yet" for some versions? The vendor's changelog or WordPress.org names releases the repository does not have yet; they appear in the version list folded away (Reading a package page).
What does the Compare page show? Three ways to put a premium plugin or theme into a WordPress project, row by row: download sites, the vendor's own portal and this Composer repository.
