Creating an account and signing in
Sign up, confirm your e-mail address, complete your profile, accept the terms and sign in.
On this page
Before you start
- Use an e-mail address you read: the confirmation link, receipts and security notices go there.
- If you work in a team, ask whoever manages it whether your organisation already has a plan: you can join it with the invitation they send you (Organisations).
Create the account
- Select Sign up at the top right of any page.
- Enter your Name (1), your E-mail address (2) and a Password of at least eight characters, twice (3).
- Tick I accept the terms and the privacy policy (4); the links open both documents.
- Select Create account (5).
Where the buttons Sign up with GitHub or Sign up with Google appear above the form, you can use one of those accounts instead of a password. You can add a password later under Settings → Password and authentication.
Confirm your e-mail address
We send a link to the address you gave (1). Open it, on any device, to activate the account. Your account page and Composer tokens become available once the address is confirmed.
No e-mail after a few minutes? Look in the spam folder, then select Send the link again (2).
Complete your profile
After confirming, a short profile opens once. It helps us invoice correctly and tailor the service; nothing in it is public.
- Choose your Country (1) (it is used for taxes on invoices) and what describes you best. The number of sites, company, birthday and phone are optional.
- Choose your Language (2): the website, e-mails and Stripe receipts use it. Same as the browser follows your browser's language.
- Tick I accept the terms and the privacy policy (3) if you signed up with GitHub or Google.
- Select Finish and go to my account (4).
You can change all of it later under Settings → Profile (Your account and settings).
- Select Sign in at the top right.
- Enter your E-mail address (1) and Password (2).
- Tick Stay logged in (3) on your own computer only.
- Select Log in. With two-factor authentication on, enter the code from your authenticator app next (Password, two-factor authentication and passkeys).
Forgot your password? Select Forgot your password? (4) (Forgotten password or lost authenticator).
When the terms change
When we change the terms of service in a way that matters, the next page you open asks you to accept the new version. The page says what changed. Until you accept, the version you accepted earlier continues to apply; you can still export your data, cancel your subscription and delete your account.
Questions
Can I change the e-mail address later? Yes, under Settings → Account (Changing your e-mail, language, or deleting your account).
I signed up with GitHub; do I need a password? No. A password, a passkey or another connected account are alternatives; at least one way to sign in always stays.
