Getting started
From a new account to your first composer require, in five steps.
On this page
MeteorGPL is a private Composer repository for premium WordPress plugins and themes. You find a package on the website, and Composer installs it into your site like any other dependency.
Before you start
- You need Composer 2 on your computer or server, and a WordPress site whose plugins and themes are managed with Composer (a plain
composer.json, or a Bedrock project). - Browsing, starring and watching packages is free. Installing needs a plan, or membership of an organisation that has one.
Five steps
-
Create an account and confirm your e-mail address: Creating an account. Within 14 days, turn on two-factor authentication or add a passkey: it is required for every account (Password, two-factor authentication and passkeys).
-
Choose a plan under Settings → Billing and plans (Plans, payment and invoices), or accept an invitation from an organisation that has one.
-
Create a Composer token under Settings → Composer tokens. It is shown once: copy it at once (Composer tokens).
-
Store the token for Composer on your machine:
composer config --global http-basic.composer.meteorgpl.com token <your-token> -
Add the repository to a project and install a package:
composer config repositories.meteorgpl composer https://composer.meteorgpl.com composer require meteorgpl-plugin/elementor-pro
Packages install into wp-content/plugins/<slug> or wp-content/themes/<slug> through composer/installers (Installing packages with Composer). Activate them in WordPress with the license key you bought from the vendor, and keep that key in your license key vault.
Where to go next
- Finding packages and reading a package page.
- Stars, lists and watching: be told about new versions.
- Composer in CI: install from GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
- Organisations: one plan for your whole team.
