Notifications: inbox, e-mail, push and the weekly digest

Choose how you hear about each kind of event, turn on push notifications, use the inbox and the weekly digest of your stars.

Choose what reaches you, and how

Settings → Notifications is a table: one row per kind of event, one column per channel.

  1. In-app (1): the inbox on the website.
  2. Push (2): a notification from your browser, even when the site is closed (see below).
  3. Email (3): a message to your address.
  4. Transactional and core business messages are always e-mailed: their box is checked and greyed out (4).
  5. Weekly digest (5) under Stars: once a week, what changed in the packages you starred.

Select Save notification settings at the bottom.

Packages you watch follows each package's Watch menu: the table says how you hear, the Watch menu says about which packages (Stars, lists and watching).

Push notifications and automatic watching

  1. Automatically watch packages you star (1): starring a package also watches its new versions.
  2. Turn on push on this device (2): your browser asks for permission; allow it. Do this on every browser where you want push notifications. Then tick the Push column for the events you want.

The inbox

The inbox icon at the top right (1) shows a dot when something is unread; it opens Notifications.

  1. Switch between All and Unread (2).
  2. Unread notices (3) are highlighted; open one to go where it points (the package, the ticket, the token page …).
  3. Mark all as read (4) clears the dot.

The weekly digest

On Monday mornings, the digest lists the new versions published during the week in the packages you starred. It is off until you tick it under Stars → Weekly digest, by e-mail, in the inbox or both.

Questions

Can I stop e-mails about my account? Messages about access, tokens, security and payments always go by e-mail: they protect your account and are part of the service. Everything else can be switched off.

E-mail settings in a message footer: every e-mail that is not transactional says why you receive it and links to these settings.
